Children

At Farmdale Baptist Church, children are very important to us. For this reason we provide a number of opportunities for ministry to children. Below are listed the opportunities provided on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday night, along with those offered on special occasions. All of these ministries are undergirded by our core commitments (listed on the home page) and our Philosophy of Children’s Ministry. Be sure to read these for more information. Another helpful resource is John and Noël Piper’s article “The Family: Together in God’s Presence”.
Though our desire is to have families worship together on Sunday morning, we do provide an optional extended Sunday School session during the sermon for children ages 3-5. The children will be dismissed during the offertory for this optional time of Bible story, songs, snack, and activities.
The Praise Factory (Sunday nights at 6:30 pm) is a multi-age, children’s study of who God is, who He made us to be, His plans for us and this world, His work of salvation for His people, and the things of the world to come. It gives children an opportunity to consider the magnificent way that God has ordered all things to His glory; and, equips them with a strong foundation of God’s Truth with which to combat the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Held on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM, Children in Action is a comprehensive missions education organization, for boys and girls in grades 1–6, which includes praying for missions, engaging in missions action and witness, learning about missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, participating in the work of the church and denomination, and supporting missions.
Our children’s ministry also hosts occasional special events which are designed to encourage participation by the entire family. Annual events include an Easter egg hunt, pool party, and a Fall festival.
