Children
At Farmdale Baptist Church, children are very important to us. For this reason we provide a number of opportunities for ministry to children. Below are listed the opportunities provided on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday night, along with those offered on special occasions. All of these ministries are undergirded by our core commitments (listed on the home page) and our Philosophy of Children’s Ministry. Be sure to read these for more information. A couple of helpful resources are John and Noël Piper’s article “The Family: Together in God’s Presence” and Jeremy Walker’s article “Attendance of Children in Public Worship.”
Though our desire is to have families worship together on Sunday morning, we do provide an optional Children’s Church session during the sermon for children from Pre-K through the 2nd grade. The children will be dismissed during the offertory for this optional time of Bible story, songs, and activities.
116 KIDZ (Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm) is a discipleship program for children in grades preschool – 6th grade that seeks to equip children with God’s Word and show them how to apply it practically. They are challenged to memorize Scripture as well as learn about, and pray for, missionaries around the world.
Our children’s ministry also hosts occasional special events which are designed to encourage participation by the entire family.
